The idea

We emphasize education and information about the importance of sustainability in wool processing. By sharing knowledge and working methods, Icelandic Woolmarket & Mill will educate customers and the community about the importance of sustainable production and how everyone can contribute to environmental protection.

Wool processing with a new approach & personal service

We strive to provide personal service and fulfill our customers’ wishes in the best possible way.

The wool mill emphasizes the traceability of the wool and that the customer receives their wool processed and delivered.

Education and workshops dedicated to wool and wool processing will be offered at the Wool Mill.

The wool

Efforts are being made to work in collaboration with farmers to increase the value of wool.

Small units

The wool mill specializes in processing small units. Individuals can bring their own wool for processing and receive it back in the form desired. The wool is washed, shredded and placed in a skein or comb.

Natural

All processing of the wool is done in the most natural way possible. Only biodegradable detergents and clean Icelandic water are used to wash the wool.

Workshops

Education

Courses will be advertised in wool processing for individuals and groups. It is ideal for groups of friends, sewing clubs and those who are curious to come to the courses and work on projects together, learning along the way.

In the Ullarversinn store, it will be possible to purchase products from Ullarversinn, as well as products from nearby artisans that will be sold through a dealership.

Funding

The Icelandic Woolmarket & Mill has received funding from SASS through the South Iceland Parish Program. The Icelandic Woolmarket & Mill received funding in the spring allocation of 2024 and in the fall allocation of 2024. This funding gave us a lot of support in preparing for the Icelandic Woolmarket & Mill. With this funding, it became possible to implement this idea for the Icelandic Woolmarket & Mill.
